Dear residents of City West,
This is to update you on our policing activity over the last week. We have continued to patrol our areas hot spots for anti-social behaviour around the patch. These include areas in Eltham Drive, where we have previously had long-standing issues with youths attending properties in the road. While we're pleased to say we have not received any complaints in the last month, we will still patrol the area to provide a reassuring presence. If you live in or near Eltham Drive and have further concerns about anti-social behaviour, then please contact us through 101 or the online web form.
Last week we executed a drugs warrant in the Broxtowe Estate following intelligence developed around the address. During the search of the property, we recovered nun chuks, knuckle dusters and cannabis. The occupant will be interviewed about these matters in due course.
In April we received information about a gentleman driving a 16-seater minibus without valid insurance for hire and reward and without the correct driving licence. He was interviewed in which he answered ‘no comment’ to the majority of the questions. Further enquiries were made with the DVLA and witnesses. He was then served a legal notice to identify the driver of the vehicle on specific dates - failure to provide this information is its own offence- after which the gentleman admitted being the driver. He will now be charged with driving without the correct licence and valid insurance.
Finally, earlier today we assisted the national Illegal Money Lending Team execute a warrant near Bells Lane. An adult male has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in illegal money lending i.e. loan sharking. He will be interviewed shortly.
Kind regards,
PC McKay 6138
